From University to Downing and Bayaud to Fourth Avenue , The land that is the Denver Country Club was purchased on August 4th,1902 . The golf course was laid out in 1902 to 1903 and the Denver Country Club moved in on 1904. Immediately, the land north of first avenue was split off to be developed as an elite residential community. Many of the mansions that were built there still stand today. This is one Denver neighborhood in which the last 100 years of time has hardly altered. Since many of these homes were expansive for the times, many have not been torn down or expanded over the years. This neighborhood remains today directly across the street to the entrance of the Denver Country Club.
